Sightseeing

Limassol is not so well provided with ruins and other archaological remains as Paphos but there is still plenty to see. Travelling west along Franklin Roosevelt Avenue from the old port area you will find the Keo Brewery, manufacturer of Cyprus's award-winning beer.  This is technically a lager and usually served cold but in the depths of winter try drinking it at room temperature - it is actually quite palatable.  The brewery welcomes visitors and no appointment should be necessary. Topography

Finding your way about Limassol is relatively easy as most of the town, to the sea-side of the motorway anyway, has a fairly logical lay-out. Until about 2009 the motorway was interrupted for the length of Limassol by a dual carriageway interspersed with 6 roundabouts, which caused significant delays at rush hours.  It could take half an hour to pass Limassol.  Then the stretch in question was gradually replaced by a series of under- and over-passes, which have now been completed.  Where each of the roundabouts previously existe...
